 Abstract

In recent years there has been a massive increase in International Students attending American colleges and universities. This research paper will look specifically at the increase in Chinese International Students and their challenges while attending American higher education institutions. To better understand these Chinese Students choosing to study abroad, this paper will look at their reasoning behind choosing American universities and the sacrifices that a family has to make to send their child to study in America. This paper will further explore the struggles of Chinese students' language barriers and how American students' assistance can benefit them. This paper further discusses the differences between Western and Eastern cultures, focusing primarily on the education systems and their effects on the students when they try to incorporate what they have learned in their careers.
